Howard Allen (thedoc@scriptdoctor.com) has worked for years as a professional actor, playwright, director, screenwriter, literary manager and drama editor -- as well as a newspaper reporter, reviewer and editor.

ScriptDoctor.com was rated “No. 1, Cream of the Crop” in a national survey of analysts/ consultants by Creative Screenwriting magazine.

Allen collaborated on a screenplay with Kinga Gaspers, Madam Nijinsky, which is in development in L.A.  A new play with Royce Sparks, The Harpie, was just released to the marketplace. A screenplay Allen optioned, Empires & Underdogs, is about South Africa 1899-1902. Allen is a co-writer of Jenna’s Gone, an Arizona contemporary Western, and Once Upon a Diamond, based on a small-town baseball coach in 1942.  

As a member of Actors’ Equity and the Screen Actors’ Guild, he performed in LORT B theatres and in movies directed by Michael Landon. He won awards from Tucson Weekly for editing, reporting, and reviewing film/ theatre.  Allen also won a scholarship to attend the Critics’ Institute at the prestigious O'Neill Theatre Conference. He continues to do screenwriting workshops, including IFP Phoenix.

Vicki McCarville grew up in Rockwell City, Iowa, meeting her husband Mick in high school. After high school, both graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. Vicki then taught English for 33 years, as well as being a part-time reader/grader of graduate students’ writing at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, where she received her MS degree. She is honored in Who’s Who in American Education, 1989.  In 2009 she started work on her husband Mick’s research, turning a true story into a script.  The script, Once Upon a Diamond, is set in 1942 in Rockwell City, Iowa.
